Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Affilist ("Affilist", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Affilist iOS app (the "App") and the website affilist.app. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Summary (the short version)
- We do not require an account, email, or sign-up. You use the App under an anonymous identifier.
- Your voice recordings stay on your device. We never upload them to our servers.
- The text of your affirmations and Manifesto is sent to our AI and voice providers (Google, ElevenLabs) only to generate the content and audio you asked for.
- Analytics are off until you explicitly allow them. You can turn them off again anytime in Settings.
- We do not sell your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
Content you create. Affirmation text, your long-form Manifesto, topics you select, and your first name (optional). You may also make voice recordings of your affirmations, Manifesto, and alarm ringtones. Your recordings, AI-generated audio, and karaoke timing data are stored locally on your device only (in the App's Documents/Caches folders) and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Account / identity. An anonymous user identifier created via Firebase Authentication. This is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID and requires no sign-up.
Usage and analytics data (consent-gated). App events (screens viewed, features used, onboarding funnel, subscription events) via Firebase Analytics. This collection is disabled by default. On an early launch we ask for your permission; if you decline, no analytics are sent. You can change this anytime in Settings → Notifications & Privacy.
Diagnostics. Crash and stability reports via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs.
Purchase data. Subscription status and purchase history via RevenueCat and Apple. We do not receive or store your credit-card number or full payment details — those are handled by Apple.
Device permissions (requested only when needed for a feature):
- Microphone — to record your voice and for dictation.
- Speech Recognition — to transcribe your spoken words into text (processed by Apple).
- Notifications — for reminders and practice-goal nudges.
- Alarms / Live Activities — for wake-up alarms that ring with your own voice (AlarmKit).
- Face ID / Touch ID — optional local App Lock; biometric data never leaves your device and is handled entirely by Apple.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create, store, and play back your affirmations, Manifesto, and alarms.
- To generate personalized affirmation text and voice audio you request.
- To deliver reminders, practice-goal tracking, and wake-up alarms.
- To manage your subscription and free-tier limits.
- To measure engagement and improve the App (only with your analytics consent).
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability.
4. Third-Party Services (Data Processors)
When you use certain features, limited data is shared with the following providers, each under their own privacy policy:
- Google (Firebase Analytics, Authentication, Crashlytics) — anonymous identity, usage analytics (consent-gated), and crash diagnostics. Shared: anonymous ID, app-usage events, crash logs, device/OS info.
- Google — Generative Language API (Gemini) — AI generation of affirmation/Manifesto text. Shared: the text you provide (topics, your description, name, draft text).
- ElevenLabs — text-to-speech generation of affirmation/Manifesto audio. Shared: the affirmation/Manifesto text to be voiced.
- Apple (Speech Recognition) — convert your speech to text. Shared: audio/speech from dictation (may be processed on Apple servers).
- Apple (App Store) & RevenueCat — subscription purchases and management. Shared: purchase/transaction status, subscription entitlement.
We do not send your saved voice recordings to any of these providers. AI and voice providers receive text, not your personal audio files.
AI features ask for your explicit permission in the app before any of your text is sent to Google Gemini or ElevenLabs. If you decline, the App continues with built-in content and Apple's on-device speech. You can change this choice anytime in Settings → Notifications & Privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties. Please review these providers' policies: Firebase, Google, ElevenLabs, RevenueCat, and Apple.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Content and recordings you create are stored on your device and are removed when you delete the App or delete the item in-app.
- You can export a backup of your data from within the App at any time.
- Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained by the respective providers per their retention policies.
- To request deletion of any data associated with your anonymous identifier, contact us at the address below.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we operate on an anonymous basis and store most data on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly by managing or deleting your in-app data. Analytics consent can be withdrawn anytime in Settings → Notifications & Privacy. For other requests, contact us.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information. Most sensitive content (voice recordings) never leaves your device. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App or on this page.
