Best affirmation apps with your own voice

Seven apps, one question: can you hear the words in your own voice, and will they wake you? Facts read from the App Store on September 23, 2026.

We make one of these apps. So this page doesn't rank them; it says what each one is best at, from its own App Store listing, and lets you pick. Where a listing doesn't say, we say "not mentioned" rather than guess. Prices change; check the store.

Reading an affirmation and hearing it in your own voice are different experiences: your brain grants your own voice a trust no narrator gets (why that is). Four of the seven apps here let you record. Aya clones it instead of recording it. Only one, as far as the listings say, rings that recording as a real alarm that gets through the silent switch. That difference decides which app owns the first minute of your day, so it's the first row in the table.

Affilist

Ours. Built for the minute after the alarm: you record affirmations or a one-page Manifesto in your voice, an AI writes new lines for whatever you tell it is weighing on you, in seven languages, and the alarm rings with your recording through silent mode because it's an AlarmKit system alarm. It is new, small, has no widgets, music or Android version, requires iOS 26, and doesn't have enough App Store ratings yet to show a score. Free to start; $6.99 a week or $49.99 a year.

Aya

Aya's pitch is a persona: the version of you who already has the life you're manifesting, talking to you every day in her voice. The description is written for a woman reader, and it is a strong hook, with a 4.8 rating from over three thousand people five months after launch. Around the persona sits a whole routine the app calls the Aya Method: affirmations read to you, audio rituals for waking up and winding down, a vision board that also lives on a Home Screen widget, a daily gratitude moment, and offline downloads. Newer versions add custom manifestations in a cloned copy of your own voice. It runs on iOS 15.1 and up, so nearly any iPhone. Full comparison with Affilist →

I am

I am is the most popular affirmation app on the App Store, and the reason is simple: it is the best at putting a sentence in front of your eyes. A new affirmation on the Lock Screen every day, Home Screen widgets, an Apple Watch face, hundreds of visual themes. If what you want is to glance at a kind sentence twenty times a day without opening anything, I am does that better than anyone, and it does it in fourteen languages on both iPhone and Android. Innertune

Innertune is the biggest library in this space by a wide margin: the listing claims 77,000 recorded affirmations, 550 playlists, 19 voices and a hundred-plus background beats, with a night mode built for falling asleep to it. You can record your own voice too. It is also one of the cheaper yearly plans of the apps compared here. If you want a vast, ready-made catalogue to put on in the background, for sleep or focus, and the option to add your own recordings on top, Innertune is hard to beat on sheer volume. Mantra

Mantra has the second-largest rating count of the apps compared here, after I am (34K per its listing), and judging by the two listings it is the more complete of the two: a catalog of thirty-plus categories, the option to record your own voice and play it on repeat, ambient sounds, guided sessions, widgets, ten languages, and a mood check-in that hands you a pep talk and a few matching lines. It runs on iOS 16, so it works on phones that Affilist can't install on, and its cheapest listed yearly tier, $14.99, is the lowest yearly price of the apps compared here. If you want one app that does a little of everything around affirmations, in a language other than English, Mantra is a reasonable place to start. Full comparison with Affilist →

Stella

Stella does one thing and describes it in two sentences: you tell it your goals, and it generates audio stories that put you inside the life you're aiming for, whether that's career, relationships, money or growth. The idea is to hear your goals narrated as if they were already happening, on repeat, offline, with the content adapting as your intentions change. It is the top result for "manifest" on the App Store, it has a 4.7 rating from over five thousand people, and it runs on anything from iOS 15.1 up. If manifestation is your practice and you want a generated story rather than a list of sentences, Stella is built for that. Full comparison with Affilist →

ThinkUp

ThinkUp got the big idea a decade ago: affirmations work better in your own voice. You pick lines from a library of a few hundred, or write your own, record them, add music, and listen on a schedule. It has been around long enough to be stable and well-rated, it is cheaper than most rivals on the yearly plan, and the music-plus-voice format makes for a genuinely pleasant ten-minute session. If you want the recording idea without much else around it, ThinkUp is the straightforward choice. Full comparison with Affilist →
